Ceili Dancing Class – Last Tuesday night was the last class of the season and what a finale it was.  The wonderful turn out included present and past class members as well as dancers from the Aclint ceili dancing group.  Live music was supplied on the night by Michael Duffy and Brian & Sean Walsh, the beautiful music well and truly keeping us on our toes.

When the dancing was complete, those present sat back and enjoyed refreshments, thanks to Agnese and Lisa who were busy in the kitchen.

A minute’s silence was observed in memory of all deceased members and also for relatives of current members who passed away in the last year.

A presentation was made to our ever-patient tutor Rosaleen Russell, who week after week, guides everyone through each dance.  Thank you Rosaleen for all your help and expertise over the year and indeed years.

All present were delighted to congratulate Lisa Russell on her recent engagement to fiancé Conor Mulligan, all wishing them the best in their future plans.

The class will resume in September and anyone is welcome to join at any stage.

Nancy & Bernard McGouran are returning to Corduff Raferagh Community Centre on May 29th to share photos and videos of Nancy’s extended family in Canada and highlights of their previous visits to Corduff.  For many years Nancy née Marrin and her husband Bernard have carried out extensive research to find where Nancy’s ancestor Phillip Marron hailed from.  A breakthrough was made just before covid and they returned with Nancy’s octogenarian uncle Joe Marrin last year.  For anyone who would like to join Nancy, Bernard and the Heritage Group on May 29th at 7 pm in the Conference Room in the Centre for Nancy’s slide show, you are more than welcome to come along and hear the story of Phillip and his family in Canada and the quest to find his homestead.
