Big Breakfast – Corduff Raferagh Community Association will host a Big Breakfast in the Community Centre on Sunday 21st July from 9 am – 1 pm. All welcome.
Corduff Raferagh Lourdes Committee are running a bus to Our Lady’s Shrine in Knock on Wednesday 7th August. This is a special day at Knock as it is Clogher Diocesan Day. You can book your seat by contacting Rose Hanratty at 0872298288 or Philomena Lundy at 0871307824. A booking fee of €10 is required to book your place.
Children’s Summer Faith CAMP for ages 7 – 13yrs in Bunscoil Lughaidh Naofa, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. Monday 29th July – Thursday 1st August 2024, 10am – 3pm each day. The activities at the camp will include art, drama, sport, music, action songs and prayer. €40 per child and €25 for each additional child in the family. Booking is essential as places are limited. Booking forms are available by emailing: carrickmacrossfaithcamp@gmail.com or hard copies are available in the Carrickmacross Parish Office, opening hours Mon – Fri 10am – 12.30pm. Extending sincere sympathies from the Corduff Raferagh Community to the Keenan family Sreenty on the passing of Sr. Alice Keenan (sister of the late Patsy) in California recently. Also to the Ward family, Coolfore on the passing of Bridie. And to the Bishop family, Dundalk on the passing of Eamon (brother of the late Josie Marron). May Sr. Alice, Bridie and Eamon rest in eternal peace.
Congratulations – It is with great pleasure members of Corduff Raferagh community congratulated and celebrated with Fr. Pat McKeown on the occasion of his 60th anniversary over the past few days. Fr. Pat, a native of Greaghlatacapple, now ministering in Herne Bay in Kent, makes the annual trip to his native area to assist at the local Blessings of the Graves ceremonies. Also celebrating Mass at the Mass Rock in Greaghlatacapple and getting an opportunity to visit family, relatives and friends. We wish him continued health and happiness in his ministery.
Graveyard Project – After several years’ research the Heritage Group has printed maps and listings for St. Michael’s graveyard, Corduff & St. John’s, Corcreagh. Carrickmaclim graveyard and St. Patrick’s graveyard, Ardragh will follow shortly. The map and listing for St. John’s graveyard, Raferagh is available on the Bell Tower. St. Michael’s is at the side door of the church.

Mass at Greaghlatacapple Mass Rock – A wonderful evening took place at the Mass Rock on Friday evening last, more details to follow.
Temporary Closing of Roads
Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Carrickmacross and Castleblaney in County Monaghan:
Date: The road will be closed for a 4 week period between 08/07/2024 30/08/2024
To Facilitate: Road Improvement Works
Road Closed: LT 40311 Lisnafeddaly Road (the Glen road)
Diversion Routes:
Traffic travelling southbound will be diverted onto the LP 4030 Corduff road, then turn right onto the R179 Carrickmacross-Shercock Road.
Traffic travelling northbound will be diverted onto the R179 Carrickmacross-Shercock Road, then turn left onto the LP 4030 Corduff road.
All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).
