South Monaghan Parkinson’s Support Group – In the past few months a number of individuals, relatively recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s, have got together to support each other by sharing their stories and helping each other out. This small group are finding their shared experience a comfort and support as they enter uncharted waters.  The group would like to extend an invitation to anyone suffering with Parkinson’s disease, or family members to make contact to help others in a similar situation.

The Parish of Machaire Rois Healing Mass with the Anointing of the Sick.  On Sunday 1st September at 4.00pm in the afternoon, we will have a special Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross, where we will celebrate the Anointing of the Sick. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is one that is underused among our faithful. The Oil of the Sick is one of the three oils blessed by the Bishop at the Chrism Mass each Holy Thursday. This oil is distributed to every priest and parish in the diocese, along with the Oils of Chrism and Catechumens, used in Baptism and Confirmation.

 

Friends of Carrick Cancer  – By popular demand, we will once again have our annual fundraising walk along the beautiful greenway from Carlingford to Omeath on Saturday the 31stAugust. If you wish to join us, there will be a bus leaving Carrickmacross at 9.30am and our walk will start at 10.45. Please contact committee members below for a sponsorship card to help raise funds or you can donate on the day. All proceeds go to Carrickmacross Cancer Society. The Fr. Noel Conlon Charitable Trust – Date for your diary – Saturday 7th of September.  The Fr Noel Conlon Charitable Trust is holding the annual walk in Carlingford at 11 o clock with registration at 10.30 am. Beautiful scenic walk starting at the Marina with a short walk to St Jude’s Shrine-6km and longer walk to Omeath -12km, doing it for a very worthwhile charity, Mary’s Meals. Registration fee €25 p/p.

 

Heritage Week Ramble 2024 – On Thursday evening, August 22nd at 6.30 pm sharp the Heritage Group will set off from Corduff Raferagh Community Centre (A81 A263) for a short Ramble. As we will be crossing fields and climbing please wear suitable footwear. Looking forward to an enjoyable evening.
