Happy Retirement – On Friday week last the pupils, teachers, parents and staff of Corcreagh N.S. celebrated the Retirement of their cherished school secretary Tess O’Connor. Celebrated might be a strong word, as I’m sure there were many tears, at losing a dear colleague, friend, grandmother to all the pupils and a loyal member of the school’s community. Tess embodies all that is good in human nature and her role as school secretary was so apt for her genuine genial disposition. Tess was so much more than a school secretary and her quiet wisdom will be missed in the school, but all her present and past pupils will always be glad to meet here at Mass, on the road, in the supermarket or wherever they may run into her. The celebrations started with Mass in St. John’s where the children participated in all aspects of Mass and continued participating in the after party in the school. From everyone in the Corduff Raferagh Community we wish Tess and Brian health and happiness in their retirement.

Safety – Please, please, please … whether you are out for a stroll, walking your dog, cycling or running etc – please wear something bright!  Preferably reflective.  Dark clothes are a perfect camouflage with the hedges and low lying sun is blinding.  It’s for your own safety.  Don’t leave it to the drivers to see you.
