First Holy Communion – The children of Corcreagh National School celebrated their First Communion on Saturday with their families, congratulations to Rían McElroy, Alisha Culleton, Cailín Matthews, Grace Carroll, Lily Larkin & Lauren McCluskey.
Next Saturday the children of Scoil Phádraig will celebrate their special day in St. Michael’s Corduff.
Alice Keeley – On Wednesday morning last, the funeral of Sreenty native Alice Keeley (née Byrne) took place in St. Michael’s. Alice passed just a few days short of her 94th birthday. She trained as a midwife and worked as a missionary in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa & Peru before returning to Ireland in the 1980s to nurse in Ballina. In later years Alice and her husband Patrick retired to Louth Village. Alice was predeceased by her husband Patrick who was interred in St. Michael’s graveyard in 2013. Corduff Raferagh Community extends sincere sympathies to the Keeley, Byrne and Connolly families. May Alice rest in eternal peace.
Raferagh May Procession – The Annual May Procession in honour of Our Lady will take place in Raferagh on Wednesday May 27th at 7.00pm. We encourage you to join the procession on the road to the Grotto. The Rosary will be recited and Hymns sung, followed by Mass at 7.30pm. We extend a special invitation to the children of the parish who made their First Holy Communion and Confirmation to join us in the Procession. Please note that the Mass on Wednesday 27th May in Raferagh at 7.30pm is available for the booking of Anniversaries.

Annual Procession with the Blessed Sacrament 2026 – This year’s procession will take place on Sunday 24th May at 3pm. We would like to extend a warm welcome to the children of our Faith Community, who celebrated the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation this year, to also join in the procession. The route this year will be as follows, starting from St Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross at 3pm – turning left to Donaghmoyne Road, left via Cloughvalley, turning left on to the Castleblayney Road toward Main Street, turn left at Main Street towards O’Neill Street back to St Joseph’s. Benediction will take place outside St Joseph’s Church at approximately 4pm
Friends of Carrick Cancer Society 2026 Campaign. The Flora Mini Marathon will take place on Sunday, 31st May.
