Raferagh May Procession – The Annual May Procession in honour of Our Lady will take place in Raferagh on Wednesday May 27th at 7.00pm. We encourage you to join the procession on the road to the Grotto. The Rosary will be recited and Hymns sung, followed by Mass at 7.30pm. We extend a special invitation to the children of the parish who made their First Holy Communion and Confirmation to join us in the Procession.

Annual Procession with the Blessed Sacrament 2026 takes place this Sunday 24th May at 3pm. We would like to extend a warm welcome to the children of our Faith Community, who celebrated the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation this year, to also join in the procession. The route this year will be as follows, starting from St Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross at 3pm – turning left to Donaghmoyne Road, left via Cloughvalley, turning left on to the Castleblayney Road toward Main Street, turn left at Main Street towards O’Neill Street back to St Joseph’s. Benediction will take place outside St Joseph’s Church at approximately 4pm
Friends of Carrick Cancer Society 2026 Campaign Flora Mini Marathon will take place on Sunday, 31st May. Anyone who has signed up and would like to do the mini marathon for Carrick Cancer, or if you would like to register to take part, please contact a committee member (see below). Lisdoonan Vintage and Heritage Club will be holding their annual Vintage Tractor Car run on Sunday 31st May. €20 a vehicle. Strictly vintage pre-2000. Leaving Lisdoonan community centre at 1pm, registration from 12noon.
Mass of Thanksgiving to mark Bishop Larry Duffy’s Golden Jubilee of Priesthood will be celebrated in St Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan on Sunday 14th June at 3pm. Everyone is welcome and each parish is asked to have representation at the Mass. Refreshments afterwards in the Hillgrove Hotel.
Thank you – It was a busy weekend in the Community Centre and Mountain Dew with a 90th Birthday Party & First Communion Party. Along with the wonderful staff – Pauline, Geraldine, Agnese, Siobhan & Mairead, members of the committee and additional volunteers rolled up their sleeves to prepare and clean up the hall, serve food, wash dishes and bake bread. All of it very much appreciated and a great team effort to make both events special for the celebrating families. Go Raibh Maith Agat.
