On Thursday evening last in the Shirley Arms the annual Carrick Cancer Public Information evening took place.  At the meeting the current Committee members took a side step and a new Committee was introduced.  The Corduff Raferagh community wishes to thank the committee for their dedication and voluntary work over the years, some of whom have been on board since the 1980s.  Many members of our community were grateful to the voluntary committee for their compassion, help and assistance during anxious and tough times.  To Pat Drury, Pauline O’Hagan, Pauline Fox, Marian Maggs & Michael McMahon – Sincere Thank you.  We would also like to wish the new committee all the best as they take over the reins – Pauric Keenan, Margaret Ruddy, Una Clarke and two Corduff ladies, Geraldine Oliver and Ann Treanor.  You can be reassured that the Corduff Raferagh community will continue to assist your group with fundraising events, the first even taking place next week, the Poker Classic in the Mountain Dew on Friday 31st March.

See this week’s Northern Standard the full report.

St Brigid’s Crosses – At the Carrick Cancer meeting on Thursday evening last, Tess O’Connor presented a cheque for €3,570 to the group.  Congratulations to Tess and her team of helpers who have been making the crosses for the past number of years and presenting the proceeds of their fundraiser to Carrick Cancer.  Job well done as always.
