Trees at St Joseph’s Church Carrickmacross and at St John’s Church Raferagh.  I have been concerned about the condition of the trees at both Churches for some time.  They are enormous trees and are not in a great condition and with the increase in numbers and ferocity of storms we need to address the issue. Chambers Tree surgeons carried out the removal of trees in Corduff following storm Éowyn last year, following the falling of around fifteen trees there. We have also witnessed the destruction caused in that storm to the Paupers Graveyard on the Donaghmoyne Road, when a large number of trees were uprooted. I would appreciate if anyone who has strong opinions on this issue to speak to either myself or Fr. McEneaney, or to any member of the Parish Finance team, so that a decision can be made. Options would appear to be to do nothing, to remove the trees, or to reduce the height and width of the trees significantly.
