Blessing of the Graves takes place today, July 2nd at St. Joseph’s graveyard, Carrickmacross, next Sunday 9th July after 11 am Mass in St. Michael’s, Corduff and the following Sunday, 16th July after 11 am Mass at St. John’s, Raferagh.


Mass Cards and Mass Bouquets signed by the Priests of the Parish are available in the Parish Office cost €10.00.

Planned Giving Envelopes for 2023/2024 – The new year (2023/2024) planned giving envelopes are now ready and can be collected from the back of the local churches.  The new envelopes will commence the First Sunday of July.  We thank you for your continued support to our Parish


Local Graveyards – Just a week to go to Blessing of the Graves in St. Michael’s and two week until the Blessings in St. John’s.  As a mark of respect while tending to your families plot Please Do Not Dump your rubbish in the graveyard or in the surrounding areas and Do Not ‘Hide’ Rubbish Behind Headstones, bring tubs or bags with you to take your debris home.  Water bottles/cans are located at the taps in the graveyards, please return them to the tap when you have watered flowers/plants etc


St. Michael’s Graveyards – Can you spare an hour during the week to weed, clip, sweep or help out in the general tidy up of the graveyards, avenues and car parks. Or join the committee and volunteers on Friday evening 7th July at 8 pm for the final touch ups.  All help greatly appreciated.


Cake Sale today after 11.00am Mass in Raferagh to fundraise for Project Zambia. Local lady Leah Cooney will be travelling out as a volunteer with project Zambia for 3 weeks in July. Project Zambia is a non-profit charity who work in the poorest and most marginalized parts of Zambia. Zambia ranks amongst the highest countries in the world for poverty and inequality. Project Zambia works in partnership with local Zambians to help empower them to keep projects running, these projects can include education, feeding programs, helping locals gain access to water and medical care. All money raised will go directly to this amazing charity. Your support will be gratefully appreciated.


Greaghlatacapple Mass Rock – The annual Mass at Greaghlatacapple Mass Rock will take place on Friday 7th July at 7 pm, weather permitting.  Fr. Pat McKeown will officiate at the Mass.  Please make sure to wear suitable footwear for crossing fields.  Note Friday 7th July.


Big Breakfast – Corduff Raferagh Community Centre are hosting a Big Breakfast to defray day to day running costs of the building.  The Big Breakfast will run from 9.30 am – 1 pm on Sunday July 9th.  Price €10 per head and €5 for Primary School children.  An ideal opportunity to catch up with family and friends or to get pre match nourishment.

Corduff Calling Books will be on Sale in the Community Centre after Blessing of the Graves on Sunday July 9th.


Congratulations to two local gentlemen on their recent nuptials – Stephen Farrelly, Lisdrumturk & Sinead Shavley, Kildare and Mark & Fon Cooney, Cargaghoge.  Health & Happiness to both couples.


Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in the Municipal District of Ballybay/Clones in County Monaghan:

Date of Closure:              Monday 3rd July 2023 to Friday 21st July 2023

To Facilitate:                  Bridge Rehabilitation Works

Road Closed:                   L-40054 in the townlands of Corhelshinagh, Lisirril, Carrickadooey and Faraghy

Diversion Routes:         Traffic wishing to travel on the L-40054 in the direction of Sreenty from the R181-9 will be diverted by remaining on the R181, and then turning right onto the L-4005.

Traffic wishing to travel on the L-40054 in the direction of the R181 will be diverted by remaining on the L-40051, then turning left onto the L-4005, and then continuing along the R181.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access will be catered for. No through road will be available at the bridge works).
