Corduff Raferagh Community Association Annual General Meeting takes place on Wednesday 14th May 2025 at 9 pm in Corduff Raferagh Community Centre.  Nomination Forms are available on the website or by emailing info@corduffraferagh.ie and printed copies are available at reception in the Community Centre.  All nominations must be received by Friday 9th May 2025.  Representatives from all clubs, groups and indeed individuals should attend the AGM, this is your Community Centre.

 

The Monaghan Parkinson’s Branch are holding a meeting on Monday 12th May in the Iontas Centre, Castleblayney (A75 HK09) at 7 pm.  This is an opportunity for anyone with Parkinson’s and their family members to come along to hear about the activities and support of the Monaghan branch.  The group meets every Tuesday in Peake Fitness, Carrickmacross (A81 A2H4) where Frick McMahon guides the group through exercises which all feel are beneficial to their health.  The group wants to put a plan in place to help everybody in the county with Parkinson’s.  For more details call Seamus on 087 2482292.

 

Congratulations to all the local children & their families who celebrated the sacrament of Confirmation yesterday in St. Joseph’s Carrickmacross Aaron Callan, Colin Chorchel, Tristan Coffey, Rosie Colgan, Darci Crossan, Diarmuid Grace, Thomas Grace, Kayla King, Shay Lewis, Bobby Marron, Ryan McCabe, Jayden McGarrell, Lauren McMahon, Jayden McNally, David Moloney, Elsie Mai Mulholland & Jamie Roe.

 

Thank you to Paddy & Pauline Reilly who lit a candle for the people of Corduff & Raferagh while on the Faith & Light Pilgrimage in Lourdes last week, a lovely thought and much appreciated.

 

Cormagh Company Community Employment (CE) vacancies in Corduff & Magheracloone – We have several vacancies arising over the coming months in the church graveyards, and Community Centres in both areas. To be eligible to participate on a Community Employment project you need to be unemployed and in receipt of a welfare payment for 52 weeks or more. Duties will include: Maintenance, grass cutting etc., kitchen assistant duties, Admin and caretaking in community buildings. Defibrillators – Please make yourself familiar with the location of your nearest Defibrillator – Corduff Community Centre A81 A263, the Defibrillator is located at the old entrance door.  This unit has a key pad – but you do not need to use the key pad, the unit is ready to open.  The Defibrillator at Corcreagh National School A81 YR59 is located outside the back door of the school, the door nearest the school playground.  Other local Defibrillator locations are Shantonagh Post Office A75 FK75, McEvoy’s Pharmacy, Shercock A81 YX27; Manor Farm Gates, Shercock, A81 RH39; Carrickmacross Workhouse A81 E372 and Bawn handball club.

 

Darkness into Light a national fundraiser for Pieta House who provide facilities for those struggling with their mental health.  On Saturday May 10th, at 4.15 am, you are invited to join those who are taking part in this important 5km walk, starting at Emmet Park, Carrickmacross.  Come along and make a donation towards Pieta House
