Busy Weekend – Last weekend was a busy weekend in the Community Centre.  A well-attended Pipe Band Table Quiz took place in the Mountain Dew on Friday night, while the Bowls tournament took place in the main hall.  On Saturday night a fancy dress birthday party took place in the Mountain Dew while Social Dancing took place in the main hall.  Then on Sunday the Kids Disco took place in the main hall, and later RU4 Reel rocked the Mountain Dew.  Thanks to Pauline, all the staff and volunteers who helped in moving furniture to suit each event, for all the cooking, prep work and serving involved, to Mairead for all the behind the scene work, to Margaret & Tom for the Hamper, to Agnes for the fantastic Halloween themed decorating and to the bar staff for all their help and support.  For all the staff it was an extremely busy weekend, but each played a blinder ensured everyone enjoyed themselves, so thank you to the wonderful staff.

Extending sincere sympathies from the Corduff Raferagh Community to Teresa McCabe, Cornasassonagh and the Donaghy family Shantonagh on the passing of Teresa’s sister Kathleen Donaghy and to Kathleen’s family – Jim, John, Eamon & Theresa.  Kathleen just celebrated her 101st birthday two months ago.  May Kathleen rest in peace.  We also extend sympathies to Anthony McCabe, Corrinenty and the extended McCabe family on the passing of Anthony’s brother John recently.  May he rest in peace

On Wednesday morning as news filtered through our community of the passing of Paddy Keenan, Faraghy, there was a definite air of deep sadness at this news.  Paddy and his family were very much in the thoughts and prayers of our community for the past year, since Paddy’s accident.  During Paddy’s funeral on Friday morning, Fr. Shane delivered a beautiful homily, saying Paddy was a man of common decency, indeed he was a gentleman of common decency.  One of Paddy’s first job as a plumber in the 1970s was the installation of the heating system in St. Michael’s.   To the Keenan family – Ann, Jacinta, Regina, Tony, Paraic, Peter Owen, Gerard, Mary, Angela and the extended family we extend sympathies from the entire Corduff Raferagh Community.  May Paddy’s gentle soul rest in peace.
