Condolences – On July 1st Corrinenty native Anthony McCabe, took his leave of this world.  Anthony was a familiar sight on our roads, either walking or on his bicycle.  In later years he moved to Cloughvalley & then to Castleross.  Anthony was a very quiet, soft spoken gentleman, who was highly intelligent.  He was an avid reader of books & newspapers, loved a trip to the cinema and an odd flutter on the horses.  To the Corrigan and Daly families we extend sincere sympathies.  May Anthony’s gentle soul rest in peace.

Vote of Sympathy – At last Wednesday night’s Community Association meeting a vote of sympathy was extended to the families, relatives and friends of Paddy Grace, Peggy McCaffrey, Mary Jane Togher, Elizabeth Hoey, Maura Tobin, Angela Flanagan, Martin McGilly and Anthony McCabe.  May they all rest in eternal peace.

Corduff Raferagh Clogher Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock – If you would like to attend the Clogher Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock led by Bishop Duffy, a bus will travel from Corduff to the Marian Shrine on Wednesday, August 5th.  Pick up will start at the AIB in Carrickmacross at 8.00 am, proceeding to Corduff for 8.15 am and a final pick up point in Shercock at 8.30 am.  To reserve your seat please contact Rose 087 2298288 or Philomena 087 1307824.  The bus charge is €20 per person and a €10 deposit is required to secure your seat.

Dog Fouling – Due to an increase in dog fouling along the footpaths and carparks at St. Michael’s, in the parochial house lawn, in the area in or around Scoil Phádraig and the Community Centre we ask that all dog owners clean up after their pets.

Corcreagh Ramble  In breezy conditions, the Ramble from Short’s to McEntee’s cross took place on Sunday evening last.  Our leaders for the evening, Maura Garvey & Jemmy McCahey shared lots of memories, stories, information and humorous anecdotes along the way.  The Rambles are always a lovely way of hearing about families who once called a particular stretch of road their home.  Thanks to Maura & Jemmy for sharing their knowledge.
