Mother’s Day –  Today is a very special day for all our mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers.  It is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude for their love, guidance, braveness, patience and compassion that they bestow on their families each day.  We think of the wonderful mothers we have lost who have left many special memories for us to treasure today and everyday.  Today we think especially of the McCabe & Daly families as they say farewell to a treasured wife, mother, grandmother and sister.   And the McGivney family as their mother Nancy says farewell to her husband.

Table Quiz in aid of the Cavan Branch of Parkinson’s Ireland, takes place on Friday March 22nd in the Mountain Dew at 8.30pm.  Table of four €20.   The Hanratty family who are organising this event are very grateful for all the help that they receive from the Cavan Branch of Parkinson’s Ireland. The group relies solely on fundraising, so the family hopes to see you there, to support this worthy event.

Fior Ceilí takes place on Friday March 22nd in Corduff Raferagh Community Centre.  Music by the Michael Duffy Ceilí Band and it promises to be a great nights fun.

Condolences – This week has been a difficult and sad week for a number of families in our community. Carmel Ward’s sister Mary Clayson passed away in England.  Charles, Cathal, Catriona & Gerard McCabe and Michael Daly lost their beloved wife, mother and sister, Mary.  Nigel, Louise, Abbie, Rebecca & Lewis McGivney lost their beloved father and grandfather, Francie.  Rosie, Sam, Martin, Laura & Sarah Mills lost their beloved father and grandfather Cormac O’Donohue.  To all of the families we extend sincere sympathies from the Corduff Raferagh Community.  May Mary, Mary, Francie & Cormac rest in eternal peace.

Vote of Sympathy – At last week’s Corduff Raferagh Community Association meeting a vote of sympathy was passed to the family, relatives and friends of Maureen Freeman and John Duffy.  May they both rest in peace.
