Big Breakfast – Corduff Raferagh Community Centre will host a Big Breakfast on Sunday July 9th, the morning of Blessing of the Graves in St. Michael’s from 10 am – 1.30 pm.  An ideal opportunity to catch up with family and friends.

Local Graveyards – In the run up to Blessing of the Graves in our local graveyards as you plan to tend to your families grave – please bring a refuse sack or tub with you to take the weeds, dead pots or wreaths home with you to dispose of them properly.  As a mark of respect Please Do Not Dump your waste in the graveyard or in the surrounding areas and please Do Not ‘Hide’ Rubbish Behind Headstones.  This can be an unsightly mess and take away from all the good work that many do in tending the graveyards.  If you have a little extra time, could you spend it weeding or tidying a grave that you know has no one to tend to it.  It would make all the difference to the overall appearance of the graveyard

Monaghan Alerts – The new text Alerts system was launched back in April by Monaghan County Council, replacing the former Komeer system.  If you would like to get text alerts you can download the ‘Monaghan Alerts’ app onto your smartphone or you can fill out the short form which is available on the notice board in the Reception area of the Community Centre and post it to Monaghan County Council, full details are on the form.  The service is Free and you can select the area you wish to receive alerts for e.g. Corduff/Raferagh.  This is an important service to alert the community of emergencies, road closures, weather events and suspicious activity.  Last week the service sent out a text to “keep a lookout for cold callers calling to homes offering services. Please do not engage with them and report suspicious activity.”

Carrickmacross Walking Tours Return – The popular walking tours of Carrickmacross have resumed and will take place each Saturday morning at 11am from the Shirley Arms Hotel.
