Blessing of the Graves takes place on July 14th at St. John’s after 11 am Mass.  July 21st at St. Michael’s after 11 am Mass.

 

Welcome to all those who are attending the Blessing of the Graves ceremony at St. John’s today, especially those who have travelled a distance to join family members .  We hope you have a pleasant day.

 

St. Michael’s Graveyard – Great turnout yesterday to strim, weed and generally tidy up the church grounds and graveyards, wonderful to see some new faces.  All help is greatly appreciated to keep the area neat a tidy.  Well done to all.

 

Big Breakfast – Corduff Raferagh Community Association will host a Big Breakfast in the Community Centre on Sunday 21st July from 9 am – 1 pm.  All welcome.

Corduff Raferagh Lourdes Committee are running a bus to Our Lady’s Shrine in Knock on Wednesday 7th August. This is a special day at Knock as it is Clogher Diocesan Day.  You can book your seat by contacting Rose Hanratty at 0872298288 or Philomena Lundy at 0871307824.  A booking fee of €10 is required to book your place.

 

Tractor & Vintage Car Run from Killanny Church carpark on Sunday 14th July at 3 pm.  This is a fundraiser for Monaghan Rose, Ann Marie McArdle and also for Down Syndrome Centre North East.

 

Trad Session in the Mountain Dew on Friday 19th July.  All musicians, singers, dancers and spectators welcome.

 

Children’s Summer Faith CAMP for ages 7 – 13yrs in Bunscoil Lughaidh Naofa, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. Monday 29th July – Thursday 1st August 2024, 10am – 3pm each day. The activities at the camp will include art, drama, sport, music, action songs and prayer. €40 per child and €25 for each additional child in the family. Booking is essential as places are limited. Booking forms are available by emailing: carrickmacrossfaithcamp@gmail.com or hard copies are available in the Carrickmacross Parish Office, opening hours Mon – Fri 10am – 12.30pm. To BOOK Please drop the completed Booking Form along with the Cost of the camp into the Carrickmacross Parish Office.

 

Temporary Closing of Roads

Monaghan County Council gives notice to close the following road in this area – LT 40311 Lisnafeddaly Road (the Glen road)

Date:    The road will be closed for a 4 week period between 08/07/2024 30/08/2024

To Facilitate:     Road Improvement Works

Diversion Routes: Traffic travelling southbound will be diverted onto the LP 4030 Corduff road, then turn right onto the R179 Carrickmacross-Shercock Road.

Traffic travelling northbound will be diverted onto the R179 Carrickmacross-Shercock Road, then turn left onto the LP 4030 Corduff road.

All Detours will be signposted in order to direct the Traffic. (Local Access and Emergency Vehicles will be catered for at all times).

Graveyard Project – After several years’ of research the Heritage Group is in the process of printing maps and listings for St. Michael’s graveyard, Corduff; Carrickmaclim graveyard and St. Patrick’s graveyard, Ardragh.  The map and listing for St. John’s graveyard, Raferagh is complete and was erected during the week on the Bell Tower at St. John’s.
