Extending sincere sympathies from the Corduff Raferagh Community to Bernie Keenan, Shercock and the extended Finnegan family on the passing of Bernie’s brother Ollie Finnegan, Coraghy.  Ollie a quiet gentleman, was predeceased by his twin brother Des by 39 years and also his siblings Hugh, Rose, Tom, Patsy, Kathleen, Bridgie, Isa, Eileen, Vincie – a large family.  May Ollie’s gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Monaghan County Council Road Temporary Closure Notice – LP4040 and LP4041 at Bocks Lower and Upper, Between Friday 25th July 2025 and 1st August for Improvement Works.  The Road may be closed for a maximum of 3 weeks within the LP4040 and LP4041 at Bocks Lower and Upper for a distance of 2821m between its junction with the R180 Ballybay to Carrickmacross road (the Fingerpost) and the LS8021 junction at Corbane (McGinn’s Cross).

 

80’s & 90’s Disco – Carrickmacross Lions Club Fundraiser on Saturday 16th August 2025, dancing from 10pm til late in Corduff Raferagh Community Centre – full bar, dance floor for boogeying to your favourite tuens! Bus from Shirley Arms on the Night – €5 each way. Hungry Heifer Food Truck on site on the Night – when you need food for dancin’! DJ – Paul Marron – Best disco sounds from 80s, 90s, 00s, to now.  Admission only €20. Over 21s Come along, and dance your socks off.   At last, a chance to dance. Feel free to get your disco dancin’ outfit out of the back of the wardrobe and wear it – no pressure!

 

Light a candle day to celebrate the year of hope in St. Patrick’s Church, Bawn, A75 FY98, on Sunday, July 6th starting with mass at 11.30 am. Homily by Fr. Michael Ruddy. Blessings directly after mass with the relics of St. Damien of Molokai. Adoration all day. Rosary at 3pm. Closing prayers with Fr. Quigley at 7pm. Call in and say a prayer and light a candle for your intentions.

Monaghan County Council – Corduff Raferagh Community Association were delighted this week to receive a grant of €2100 from Monaghan County Council’s Community Development Fund.  The group are grateful for this funding as it will go towards the ongoing costs associated with running the Community Centre on a day to day basis.
