Christmas Wreaths – A little gentle reminder to remove Christmas Wreaths from family plots in the local graveyards, some received a battering with the recent storms and will only fall apart in time causing an unsightly mess around the graveyards.

Congratulations to Andrew Hill, Shanco and Rebecca Gilmore on their recent engagement.  Also to Claire McCabe, Lisacullion and Bryan McKenna, Doohamlet.  Wishing both couples health and happiness for their future plans.

Congratulations to Tess O’Connor who donated €3551 to Carrick Cancer earlier this week, the proceeds of her St. Bridget’s Crosses sales.  Every January Tess takes up this challenge to make St. Bridget’s Crosses for a local charity.  Although Tess has a dedicated band of helpers the vast majority of the Crosses are made by Tess herself.  She quietly and diligently works away day after day to produce these beautiful hand crafted traditional crosses for our homes, all the while providing a revenue stream for a local charity.  Thanks also to those who take time out to help Tess, supply rushes and make crosses, great teamwork.  Tess you’re a phenomenal lady, take a bow.

The Friends of Carrick Cancer are hosting a presentation night on Friday 7th March at 8.30 pm in John Joe Cunningham’s loft.  All are welcome
