Blessing of the Graves at St. John’s took place on Sunday last.  Just like the previous Sunday, the morning started off bright, but clouds gathered threatening downpours, but thankfully the showers were relatively light as families congregated around their family plots.  Fr. Kevin Connolly, Fr. Cooney and Fr. McKeown officiated at the Mass and later at the Blessing of the Graves.  The grounds and plots were looking well for the occasion thanks to the work carried out by families, volunteers and caretaker.  As the new flower arrangements and pot plants decay, let’s hope family members will return to remove them within a reasonable time frame.  It would be wonderful to keep the resting place of all our loved ones tidy, neat and a fitting tribute to those who have gone before us.

TFI Local Link Cavan Monaghan – Great News – From Monday 24th July 2023 a new Local Link Bus service No. 171 from Shercock to Dundalk will be launched.  The Route starts in Shercock via Corduff Junction (Corduff Cross) – Carrickmacross – Inniskeen – Dundalk Train Station – Dundalk Bus Station.  Five buses will run at intervals to Dundalk and back, see timetable for exact information.  This Regular Rural Service operates on a daily basis – Monday to Saturday. These local bus services are low cost accessible public transport services for anyone wishing to travel and are truly great value.

Perhaps if enough people from the Corduff Raferagh area e-mail the National Transport Authority at to suggest that the bus could come to the Community Centre Carpark it would be more convenient for parking your vehicle or getting dropped off.

The Bus Éireann route 166, Dundalk – Shercock – Cavan will continue to run for the meantime too on Mon, Wed & Fri.

Congratulations to Daniel McDonald, Shanco and his bride Shannon Clarke on their recent marriage, wishing them both Health & Happiness.
