Patsy Finnegan 90

Annie, Rory & Patsy

Congratulations to Patsy Finnegan, Lisnafeddaly, who celebrates his 90th birthday today.  On Friday night last, Patsy along with his family, relatives, neighbours and friends celebrated this wonderful milestone in Corduff Raferagh Community Centre.

Patsy was presented with a special gift from Corduff Corracharra Group Water Scheme marking his involvement with the group since its inception in 1978.  Over the years Patsy held key positions on the Water Scheme committee, including Treasurer and later Chairperson.  Patsy’s allegiance to the Fianna Fáil party is well known and some of his political associates, indeed political friends were also present.

To most, however, it is the Corduff Pipe Band that Patsy Finnegan’s name is associated with, and his fellow pipers, many of whom he has marched beside over the years, played a few tunes to the delight of the guests.  Patsy also entertained his guests with renditions of Come by the Hills & the Fields of Athenry, showing all present how to party.

Today Patsy enters the nonagenarian club following in the footsteps of his two good friends Annie Duffy & Rory O’Hanlon.

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Patsy from all in the Corduff Raferagh Community and beyond.
